POSITION: ELECTRICAL QA/QC & C& I

LOCATION: NORTHERN CAPE-MINING SECTOR

REPORTING STRUCTURE: QUALITY MANAGER

BU: ELECTRICAL, C & I INSPECTION MINING AND CONTRUCTION WORK

JOB SUMMARY OVERVIEW (KPI’s) The job consists of:

- REVIEW QCP
- INSPECTIONS
- WITNESS TEST
- DATA BOOKS REVEW
- DRAWING REVIEW
- ENSURE COMPLIENCE WITH STANDARD

REQUIREMENTS AND ASSESSMENT CRATERIA (MINIMUM)
- Grade 12 Certficate (Assential)
- Min 3-5 year working experience with solid mining & industrial experience
- Min N6/ Diploma/ or Degree in electrical engineering, C&I
- Trade test (Electrical)
- Additional Instrumentation (advantageous)
- Advanced skills in Excel (advantageous)
- Driver’s license

EXPERINCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
- Review QCP’s and communicate recommendations in line with IEC & SANS 10142 Standards
- Review electrical designs to ensure compliance with QC standards
- Perform inspections during project implementations
- Manage and review data-books and inspection sheets
- Verify correct documentation at work site, personnel qualifications and M&TE calibrations are current and workmanship standards are met.
- Ensure conformance to requirements, good work practices and promote safety
- Compiling montly reports for inspection and test reports
- Control and review of QMP and recommendations
- Perform ALL necessary test (COC’S, FAT, SAT)
- Understanding on various system and test for C & I (e.i routing inspections, terminations, joints test,control cable looping test and motor installation etc)
- Understanding of Analogue I/O test
- Soft ware for motor and UPS and VSD’s inspections
- Conduct Punch (from Pre-punch, final punch and C1 Punch process)
- Understanding of commissioning proces (from C1 to C5 process and compile checklists)
- Witness and understanding of functional & performance tests
- Understanding of Hand over, Practical completion process and Take over process
- Assess, monitor, report and identify good or sub-standard work and areas for improvement
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
- Perform supplier audits to place them on the Approved Suppliers List.
- Understanding of P & ID and schematic drawings etc

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KPI)
- Conduct inspections as per the designs
- Monitoring of construction activities, perform inspection, witness tests and measurements.
- Ensure contractors adhere to standards and regulations.
- Ensure correct material is being used
- Ensure correct tests are done
- Factory inspection to see if the product fits the design
- Review of documentation e.g., QCP’s, data books, drawings etc.
- Ensure that the processes needed for the QMS are established and maintained
