CSSCOPE OF WORK: CONTAINER HANDLING AND STORAGE
- Ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of the Maitland container storage depot and transport operations.
- The Operations will include receiving, assessing/estimating, repairs, storage, and preparation for dispatch of all containers.
- Depot will also require that the containers are cleaned and regularly fumigated. This is because the chance of mould or organisms entering and breeding in the container are highly likely, especially during long voyages.
- Operational Efficiencies
- Arranging containers is important, as it affects the turnaround time between demand and supply. For instance, if all the Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) containers are located at the bottom of a stockpile, then all the units above them will have to be removed. We require a system to avoid unnecessary handling
- Yard Operations

INGATE
- Check transporter documents before capturing:

- Check if the container number reflects correctly on transporter POD
- Make sure the Container Reference Number reflects on the POD of the transporter. Capture all relevant data on the system
- Ensure to collect the relevant and correct information from the transporters.
- Stamp and file documents once done checking.
- Filing to be kept updated at all times.

OUTGATE
- Check if the booking reference is captured before booking out a container.
- Do not release any “on hold” containers, check with Supervisor if the container can be released.
- Provide the transporter with the correct container seal.
- Provide a seal count at the beginning of every week.
- Always check transporter documents (Container Terminal Order/Purchase order) if its corresponding with the booking.

STORES
- Stock inventory of all resources on site

HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Ensure awareness of safety rules and regulations.
- Patrolling and monitoring safety work in the terminal.
- Detect hidden dangers and safety violations in operation and correct them.
- Improve staff’s safety awareness on site.
- Ensure safety inspections regarding facilities and equipment.
- Assist the team to report and record all evidence.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in the workplace.
- Display occurred accident pictures in order to better heighten awareness of the risk.
- Prepare a written daily report
- The firefighting equipment daily inspection.
- Daily Violation Reports.

**Requirements**:

- Residing in Western Cape
- Matric
- Qualification in Institute of International Container Lessors
- Own Reliable Transport (valid driver's licence)
- Tracible References
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within the role
