Waste Carriers has an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor, this position reports to the Project Manager and will be based at various drop off site in Gordons Bay.

**Job Purpose**:
To ensure the daily operations of the site allocated to you is managed efficiently in terms of the site operations, machinery and people. This includes building an effective relationship with the internal and external stakeholders.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Set standards and objectives for the team and measure their performance and development.
- Build effective relationships with officials on site, internal and external stakeholders
- Lead a team towards effective collaboration and attainment of goals ensuring the site is in peak condition.
- Ensure compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines and be custodian of such policies
- Ensure the proper flow of information and paperwork ensuring everything is up to date and easily available.
- Prepare and submit status, performance, and attendance reports daily as well as the summary on a weekly basis.
- Address issues i.e. People, machinery when they arise ensuring minimum disruption to the operation and providing creative and practical solutions.
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time, as the demand requires and stay within budget.
- Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay on a daily basis.
- Schedule shift according to production needs and ensure the employees are actively present on duty.
- Co-ordinate the end-to-end production workflow for the product to ensure when loads leave the site, it is checked and signed off effectively.
- Ensure that shift and duty rosters are in place and working and that all employees comply with statutory working hours and with the Company’s leave and sick leave policies and standards.
- Maintain a neat, clean, tidy, safe and healthy work area and comply with environmental and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements, such as ensuring that all safety appointments are done, safety meetings are held, registers are maintained, safety inspections take place and accidents, and incidents are investigated
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

**Qualification, Skills & Knowledge**:

- Grade 12 National Certificate or equivalent
- Supervisory/Managers courses
- Computer Literate
- A good understanding of Plant equipment
- 3-5 years supervisor experience
- Technically inclined
- Basic understanding of health and safety
- Able to demonstrate experience in the management of sites and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse culture
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Troubleshooting skills and excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to be broaden your horizons
- Driven towards achieving production targets and upholding high standards
- First Aid
- Valid drivers license and own transport
