Currently we are looking for Inventory and Operational Excellence Lead, who will be responsible for ensuring accurate

continuous inventory records and internal controls for all South Africa inventory holding locations as well as overseeing operational excellence activities in the market.

This includes cycle counts for Warehouse and Consignment stock and perpetual inventory adjustments for these counts.

This position requires supervising a team and collaboration with various functions in the Commercial Operations Team.

The role is critical in initiating Operational Excellence activities & projects with focus on introducing lean principles that result in direct operational improvements in the warehouses

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Inventory Management**:

- Continuously assess stock levels in consignments, branches & main warehouse to ensure the required stock levels are fulfilled, including safety stock analysis, consignment turn review, and others
- E&O Management for all inventory in South Africa, including assessing E&O potential, optimization plans, and execution (returns, safety stock adjustment, etc.)
- Monitor E&O
- Interacts with supporting teams to ensure proper controls on product introductions, launches and withdrawals.
- Monitor expiring and quality hold stock (internal and external)
- Coordinate product recall activities
- Manage product receiving from suppliers according to the inbound processes within SAP
- Manage daily replenishments to customer consignments and branches
- Oversee product needs of branches & consignments and manage replenishment order creation in SAP as needed

**Inventory Control**:

- Recommend adjustments to inventory / instrument levels to maximize performance
- Ensure cycle counts for the Warehouse and the consignment are accurate, reasonable and completed in a timely manner.

**CAPEX Management**:

- Reviews instrument and inventory productivity with Regional Sales Managers
- Assess instrument turns in loan/consignment operations & implements improvement actions

**Warehouse and Operational Excellence**:

- Identify & address key non-value adding activities within warehouse operations using lean principles & standard process flow
- Train warehouse staff on basic lean principles & help them run projects to improve process performance and simplify activities

**Other **responsibilities**:

- Ensure good housekeeping at all times
- Comply with health and safety standards
- Comply with all SOP’s and Works Instructions
- Need to work overtime and shifts as and when required
- Work weekends as and when required

- Proficiency with computers using Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and statistical analysis: advance knowledge of distribution, inventory and business systems.
- Has ability to build and develop professional relationships both internally and externally with customers

**Education/Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration or other technical field, will be an advantage
- 3-4 years’ Experience required in Stock Consignment Management or equivalent work experience
- 3 years’ progress experience in Distribution Planning
- Operational Excellence / Lean Management Experience
- Management Experience

**Travel Requirements**:

- 20%-40% travel within South Africa
- International travel as required
