- **Summary of role**:_Prepare and plan production schedules, oversee production processes, supervising staff, ensure that equipment is functioning correctly and monitor that health and safety protocols are adhered to in the Bending Department.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
Conduct proper production planning in advance.

Maintain production targets by ensuring that the required products are delivered daily.

Render guidance to the logistics to ensure effective and efficient supply of parts and materials.

Manage and address discipline and general work performance of employees within the department.

Monitor, control and ensure completion of all daily tasks within sections.

Act proactively by identifying, solving and/or reporting unforeseen challenges.

Attend to and sign off all clock cards and process to payroll weekly.

Manage the department resources and all materials involved.

Re-engineer logístical process including provision and control of materials.

Ensure the general neatness of the department.

Manage and monitor tools within the department in liaison with the Department Manager.

Responsible and accountable for all OHS matters.

Management of all machines.

Control duties by recording the movement of products through the production process against pre-planned schedules.

Identify and report production backlogs or short falls in materials.

Report problems or situations to the Department Manager.

Ensure that all work done on production line is on standard and adheres to quality standards.

Ensure that all employees adhere to Safety and Security Regulations and procedures.

Oversee QC in the department, quality assurance of materials and parts received and dispatched.

Communicate with buyers and where needed with external suppliers about stock issues.

Manage and control monthly stock takes as well as daily and weekly cycle counts.

Reporting on monthly stock takes, scrap parts and KPI’s.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
Grade 12

Completed relevant qualification (beneficial)

At least 2 years managerial or supervisory experience

3 years experience production planning experience in a manufacturing environment

3 years experience in a Bending department

Knowledge in production planning functions

Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

Managing/supervising in production environment

Computer Literacy: MS Office

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (required)

**Experience**:

- Bending: 3 years (required)
- supervising: 2 years (required)
