Sheq Officer

To ensure compliance to all SHEQ Legislation requirements and AECI standards in support of continuous improvement towards zero harm and to improve business units SHEQ’s performance
- To maintain and audit AECI’s risk-based SHEQ management approach and Management systems to ensure certification and effectiveness as defined by our stakeholders (e.g. customer, business and AECI’s) as well as the SHEQ management framework (e.g. ISO 45001, PSM)
- To update, draft and implement system standards, procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance and zero harm
- To plan, communicate and conduct/ assist-in internal and external audits.
- To ensure an effective emergency preparedness plan is in place and tested to ensure effective SHEQ management systems and protocols are in place.
- To conduct SHEQ incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning to prevent the re-occurrence of incidents
- To monitor and report on SHEQ performance in support of continuous improvement.
- Conduct SHEQ risk assessments in the workplace to improve the effectiveness of SHEQ controls as part of AECI’s risk management in support of zero harm
- To coach people and identify SHEQ training requirements to enable the business to fulfil SHEQ roles and responsibilities in support of a zero-harm culture
- Coordinate and conduct Internal SHEQ Training program
- Ensure an Effective Induction Program is set up and conducted for employees and contractors
- Implement a medical surveillance program in line with AECI Requirements.
- To ensure and provide assurance on process safety compliance with statutory equipment inspection requirements (safety critical equipment)
- To ensure and provide assurance on contractor compliance (AECI and legislative requirements)

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric.
- Degree / diploma in SHE Management/ Environmental Management / Engineering.
- Professional Registration with the SAIOSH - Technical Membership.
- SACPCMP Registration - Officer.
- A technical background, with practical experience with the management of safety, health, environment (including process safety) and quality.
- Practical SHEQ Management experience.
- ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
