**Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Panel Beater, Move Up Recruitment, UK**

**Role: HGV Panel Beater**

**Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): 5232 - Vehicle Body Builders and Repairers**

**Location: United Kingdom**

**Responsibilities**:

- Diagnosing job requirements or determining work specifications from drawings or instructions
- Selecting, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials to form parts of the vehicle underframe, framework, and body
- Repairing damage to chassis and engine mountings using hydraulic rams, jacks, and jigs
- Hammering out dents in bodywork, filling in small depressions or corroded areas in solder, plastic, or other filler compound, and replacing body panels using hand and power tools
- Installing and repairing interior fittings including seats, seatbelts, and fascia in cars, sinks and special features in caravans, and mobile shops
- Positioning, securing, and repairing external fittings including windows, doors, door handles, catches, and roof attachments

**Entry Requirements**:

- Formal qualification in a relevant field (GCSEs/S grades or an equivalent qualification) would be beneficial
- Hands-on training or apprenticeships at NVQ/SVQ Levels 2 and 3, or similar qualifications
- Proven experience as an HGV panel beater, vehicle body repairer, or a similar role
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Able to work in a team as well as individually
