A manufacturing company in Bellville is looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator and Setter to join their factory.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Matric or higher
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating and setting up **press brake machines** in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Knowledge of different types of metal and their characteristics, as well as different types of tooling and die sets for press brake machines
- Familiarity with the use of measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors
- Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, and to meet production deadlines
- Must be willing to work shifts

JOB PURPOSE:
Set up required tooling in the appropriate machine, test the tool to confirm it provides the required standard of quality and conformance to ensure the production process can take place at the specified output rate.

Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and plates
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the correct tooling and setup for each job
- Select and install the appropriate tooling and die sets into the press brake machine
- Adjust and fine-tune machine settings to ensure the accuracy and quality of the finished product
- Monitor the production process to detect any defects or quality issues, and make necessary adjustments to correct the problem
- Inspect finished products to ensure that they meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press brake machine and tooling
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each job, such as production reports, inspection records, and quality control forms
