Despatch Manager

The day to day management of the dispatch area to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inventory controls and FIFO principles.
- Managing dispatch staff including drivers, loaders, stock co-ordinators and general workers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Accurate loading and dispatching of correct quantity and description of stock is performed by staff.
- Planning the logistics of the daily truck routes
- Fleet management including monitoring vehicle maintenance
- Be able to work under tight deadlines and under pressure
- Be able to lead, motivate and direct staff
- Ensure that all loads are accurate as per invoices before dispatch and upon receipt
- Inspect vehicles and loads before and after trips
- Assist in conduction stock takes
- Must have previous Dispatch experience, 3-5 years in the FMCG industry
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must have knowledge of working on an ERP system
- Own Transport is essential
