Butchery - Blockman

**Block man description**:
**At least 3 - 5 years experience as a Blockman.**

**Interaction with**: Customers and Management.

**Job Summary**: Cut,trim or prepare consumer sized portions of meat for use or sale in the retail establishment.

**Key performances**:
**Preparation **
- Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
- Cut,trim,bone,tie and grind meats, such as beef and pork.
- Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter so they appear attractive and catch the shoppers eye.
- Wrap,weigh.label and price cuts of meat.

**Equipment**:Shaping, lacing, and tying roasts using a boning knife, skewer, and twine.

**Meat inventory**:

- Estimating requirements and ordering or requisitioning meat supplies to maintain inventories
- Receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery to ensure meat quality

**Supervision**: Supervise other butchers or meat cutters.

**Procedure**: Cut, smoke,tenderize and preserve meat.

**Salary is negotiable upon Interview.**

**Salary**: R6,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Parow, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
