Soil Scientist

**Overview**
The Omnia Agriculture division’s range of specialised products and solutions are encompassed by its unique Nutriology® offering, which assists clients to improve crop yield and quality. OMNI-PRECISE® plays a pivotal role in this offering through a wide range of customised solutions and precision farming technologies.
**Qualifications**
- At least a B.Sc. Agric degree in Soil Science.
- A tertiary qualification in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be an added advantage.

**Experience**
- Minimum of 3 years fieldwork as soil surveyor.
- Knowledge in Ag Leader® SMS software will be an added advantage.
- Track record of managing projects and achieving goals.

**Duties**
- Conducting exploratory, reconnaissance and detailed soil surveys.
- Creating soil classification maps and writing reports.
- Agricultural spatial data management.
- Working with the agronomic field team.
- Translating raw data into agricultural solutions.
- GIS mapping.

**Job Competencies**
- Strong ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of fertilizer crop requirements.
- Strong understanding of agronomic principles including soil chemistry, soil physics, agronomy, plant physiology and crop nutrient management.
- Creative thinker.
- Excellent language skills (written and verbal English and Afrikaans).
- Ability to lead and take initiative.
