**JOB SUMMARY**
Must be registered with HPCSA as a Clinpath Medical Technician to perform and analyse laboratory samples in order to provide results with efficient TAT and Acceptable Quality
**MINIMUM CRITERIA REQUIRED**
Registration in relevant discipline with HPCSA (Clinical Pathology)
**EXPERIENCE**
- Min 2 years Clinpath Experience
- Able to work independently night shift, weekends and public holidays
**RELEVANT JOB KNOWLEDGE**
- Accreditation requirement - SANAS ISO 15189
- Laboratory information systems
Laboratory standards operating procedures and processes
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Ensures the implementation of service levels and quality standards in accordance with standard operating procedures and service level agreements.
- Working under Supervision of a Pathologist / Medical Technologist, performs diagnostic testing procedures on instrumentation.
- Work overtime planned or unplanned as per operational requirements including weekends and public holiday if needed.
- Assists the laboratory manager to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with relevant legislation and all safety protocols. This includes the on-going maintenance of quality control standards, adherence to infection control measures, correct disposal of bio-hazardous waste and project management (as per delegated responsibilities) of the preparation process for internal and external quality control audits.
- Assists the laboratory manager to ensure that incidents and instrument failures are reported by laboratory staff, thereby ensuring compliance with relevant organizational policy and laboratory standard operating procedures.
- Adheres to professional conduct requirements in line with organizational policy and relevant professional body ethical standards.
