**Job Summary**: Our client is a Property Development company with multiple facets one of them being providing services to their pristine clients and tenants. They specialise in mixed-use properties, catering to students, corporate entities, and retail customers.

To be based at one of their high-rise student accommodation buildings with 200 units, they are looking for a caretaker that will be responsible for managing the building and ensuring that tenant needs are met.

In this role you will have a team of security and cleaning staff members reporting to you as well as contractors on site working on any projects in progress. You will also be tasked with potential tenant viewings, intake and exit inspections and making sure that the facility is kept in excellent condition. Additionally, some menial handyman work will be your responsibility as well such as fixing doorknobs and light electrical work, this together with addressing tenant complaints regarding parking, noise, or any other problems will be your scope. Furthermore, you will be following up with tenants on arrears, sourcing and appointing contractors.

To succeed in this role, you will need 2 years’ experience as a Caretaker of a student accommodation property, strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage small repairs and maintenance projects as well as a matric certificate. Empathy and attentiveness are vital soft skills for a role of this nature.
