Maintenance Foreman

To plan and schedule daily and weekly maintenance activities for the general mechanics and assigned trades within the Maintenance Department in coordination with Production.
- Conduct trouble shooting on equipment and repairs
- Ordering of maintenance supplies and spares
- Execute assigned mechanical and technical corrective job cards as per the maintenance works list
- Ensure that the equipment complies with the required standard, both legal and functional
- Maintain records of Autonomous and Professional maintenance
- Assist with programming of CNC machinery
- Able to balance and prioritise breakdown and be in constant communication with relevant personnel
- Manage critical equipment spares list
- Conduct Analytical maintenance
- Drive the concept of Equipment Reliability and present relevant data
- Prepare report on Plant availability; equipment lost time and other relevant information as might be required from time to time
- Compile technical maintenance reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer programs
- Be involved in equipment selection and installation
- Maintain the land and building to acceptable levels
- Maintain company vehicles
- Make technical recommendations on equipment improvement
- Ensure that all tools, equipment and materials provided to you are kept safe and secure; and
- Be proficient with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Develop, supervise and manage a team of maintenance technicians
- Plan scheduled maintenance (Preventative) to minimize plant downtime
- Ensure that all maintenance work is of an acceptable standard and report on and address reworks

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade 12 or equivalent (N3) (a MUST);
- Qualified Millwright Trade (Red Seal) (a MUST);
- N6 or N-Dip is Highly Advantageous;
- Wireman's Licence is highly advantageous.
- 10 years’ experience as an Artisan in a maintenance plant
- 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment;
- 3 years’ team leader/supervisory (Junior manager level) experience;
- 2 years’ maintenance foreman (middle manager level) experience;
- Have mechanical, electrical, engineering and supervisory skills;
- Have an ability to manage staff, work activities and resources
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have high stress tolerance
- The ability to take the initiative and be a self-starter
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control and sensitive to production costs - Knowledge and understanding of CNC machines
- Knowledge of CNC machines programming
- Project management skills;
- Planning, organising, leading and controlling;

**Salary**: R35,000.00 - R45,000.00 per month

**Experience**:

- Artisan in a maintenance plant: 10 years (preferred)
