Lab Technician

An advanced agricultural services business specialising in various precision farming services as well as specialised plant nutrition products is seeking to employ a Lab Technician on a permanent basis.

The Lab Technician position, based in Wellington, South Africa, will form part of the MicroLife Research Centre (MRC) and Plant Physiology Research Centre (PPRC). This position will provide assistance to the Lab Manager with routine day to day lab analyses.

**Responsibilities**
- Sorting and analysing plant material and samples timeously and accurately.
- Follow standard laboratory practices in performance of duties.
- Undertake specific aspects of housekeeping such as cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, maintaining the sample store etc.
- Data-capturing and filing.
- Communication with stakeholders.
**Requirements**:

- At least National Diploma in Lab Practices or similar.
- BTech in crop production/horticulture or botany/plant physiology will be considered
- Lab experience essential
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to function well both individually and as part of a team.
- Experience in the agricultural industry or working in a physiology/chemistry lab would be advantageous.
