Technical Assistance

**Job Desciption**:
ITB Flexible Packaging Solutions (ITB) is a flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group. ITB produces an array packaging for the FMCG and food markets. Its products include retail bags, security bags, FFS food packaging, heavy duty sacks and carrier bags which are distributed across South Africa and abroad.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide both **technical and administrative support** to the internal team who make up the **Technical Committee** and to production departments where required.
- Provide both **technical and administrative support** to the **Sales team**:

- **Product masters** - load product masters onto ITB website using information off SYSPRO and under instruction from management.
- Receive and control the movement of **artwork** within the factory during product master approvals Process before returning artwork to go off for plate making.
- Ensure the company’s Quality and Food Safety Management Systems are being followed or adhered to in the manufacturing processes during trials and product development.
- **Master samples**: Issue master samples as per the production plan. receive, verify and file master samples once production process is complete.
- Mount new or revised master samples and arrange for management signoff. Extract master sample and label for superseding when product undergoes revision.
- Ensure that documents and samples are stored and preserved in terms of any company and Statutory requirements for the required retention periods as applicable.
- **Follow up** on external and internal **laboratory testing** trial reports with regards to internal trials and product development.
- Send out production samples to sales team.
- Liaise with the planning, production, and despatch team to ensure trial samples are sent out timeously to meet trial dates at the customer.

**Educational Requirements**:

- Be matriculated preferably with Mathematics and Science (Tertiary qualification in a related field will be an added advantage).

**Experience Requirements**:

- Understand or have worked in an environment with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and Food Safety Systems certification.
- Be computer literate -(Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Outlook and familiar with SYSPRO
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a flexible packaging manufacturing
- Good communication skills in English - verbal and written.

- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work after hours and on weekends where required.
- Light lifting is required for the movement of documents, records and samples.
- Assist with ad-hoc duties as per Quality Manager’s instructions.
