Cashbook Supervisor / Junior Accountant

R25 000 CTC slightly negotiable

The primary functions of the Cashbook Supervisor will be performing tasks related to daily cash ups and monthly reconciliations of sales, cash on hand, credit cards and ATM transactions.

Minimum Requirements:

- **B.Com Accounting Degree / similar**:

- **2+ years’ accounting experience within a retail environment**

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Provide support to the Financial Manager and Accountant

Cashbook specific
- Oversee daily cash ups for all Retail Stores
- Oversee and supervise cashbook clerk
- Perform daily bank reconciliations (6 Bank accounts)
- Importing sales from POS for all Retail Stores
- Monthly sales reconciliations between Accounting system and POS
- Reconciliation of Cash on Hand, Credit Cards and ATM for all Retail Stores
- Verification of payments on Bank Platform
- Liaison with financial institutions regarding merchant machines, vaults and ATM's

Trial Balance and GL
- Month end accounting procedures
- Ensure relevant general ledger reconciliations are completed
- Assistance in producing month end accounts
- Preparation of statutory returns (SARS)
