**OVERVIEW**:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing database systems to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and security of data for seamless organizational operations.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Database Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance to support the organization's operational needs and strategic objectives.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Data Management**:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to meet organizational needs, including data modeling, schema design, and capacity planning.
- Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements by implementing access controls, encryption, and regular audits.
- Monitoring database performance and optimizing queries, indexes, and configurations for efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Planning and executing database backups, disaster recovery procedures, and high availability solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Creating and managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to facilitate seamless data integration, transformation, and migration between various systems and databases, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across the organization's data ecosystem.
- Providing technical guidance and training to colleagues on database best practices, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Evaluating and recommending new database technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance system performance and scalability.
- Documenting database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain system knowledge and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

**Technology and Innovation**:

- Stay up-to-date on the latest database technologies and trends.
- Research and evaluate new data solutions and tools to improve efficiency and capabilities.

**JOB COMPETENCIES - Skills, Knowledge and Attributes**

**Knowledge**:

- Proficiency in database management in MS SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Azure
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of SQL programming for querying, scripting, and automation tasks.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Understanding of database security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and encryption methods.
- Experience with backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and high availability solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot database issues, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes for data integration, transformation, and loading.
- Awareness of industry standards, best practices, and compliance requirements related to database management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
