**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

The role will lead, plan, coordinate and deliver multi-category product requirements through development & maintenance activities within both a BAU context as well as projects aligned to strategy, through translation of the commercial needs into potential product solutions and, once approved, into an effective technological brief that is then delivered with the support of internal and external resources.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Ensure the ongoing performance of existing products to specification through continuous monitoring and maintenance activity.
- Deliver an assigned portfolio of projects and activities within the Area or DRBU development* plan, which requires the coordination of internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of the commercial vision for the product.
- Integrate the category, R&D, Commercial, Product, Quality and Supply Chain requirements for cigarette blend and/or product development* and then support those functions during commercialisation.
- Manage the assigned development* activities (New Product Introductions or Product Modifications etc. across multi-category portfolio) based on an agreed plan to include consumer preferences, market dynamics, product strategy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Promote and integrate ways of working within the development team.
- Work closely with the Senior Product Developer and DRBU Product Manager (Area Head of Product) to plan and implement the development* strategy of future generations.
- Work with the DRBU Product Manager & Research Teams to understand the consumer behaviours and insights with the assigned responsibilities within the team to improve the accuracy and quality of the developments* within their assigned portfolio.
- Provide assistance to NGP (Next Generation Products) Quality team and NGP R&D Deployment team on issues requiring resolution for deployed projects.
- Support the development & delivery of Product training materials as part of the building of Product knowledge & championing within the organisation.
- Provide on time and in full delivery of specifications for new product and/or product modifications.
- Escalate risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Continuously investigate and propose product savings opportunities to deliver against the annual savings targets.
**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**- Contemporary knowledge of global tobaccos, availability, quality vs. standards, and how these translate into specifications.
- Planning and implementation skills.
- Ability to manage, prioritise and deliver against a portfolio of projects.
- Strong capacity for sensory data interpretation.
- Knowledge and experience of consumer-product insights and product research.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint etc) with SAP experience a plus.
- Fluent in English
- Proactive, independent and forward thinking with the ability to deliver in high pressure, tight deadline situations.
- Networks to build solid relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the business.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts to engage and influence key commercial and functional stakeholders up to senior level.
