Sales Person

Purpose: The purpose of this job is to assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for the customer and in a manner that the Sales person is appreciated by the customer when he/she purchases any product. This will include the ability to provide a service which results in generation of sales and to promote the business which creates sustainable growth.

Main duties
- Sales Person’s primarily identifies the needs of a customer and provides a chance for meeting those needs through the purchase of products or services.
- Follow up with orders/special order.
- Make sure that the department is kept clean, neat and safe
- Make sure customers are being attended at the counter and aisle
- Assist in the department with various tasks when required
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- Manage to complete tasks given successfully and unassisted.
- Manage to work unsupervised.
- Make sure that standard operating procedures in department are adhered to under pressure, i.e. handling customer complaints
- Submission of weekly and monthly reports to superior
- Ensure availability and working condition of all equipment for the department, i.e. trolleys
- Implement company returns policy, i.e. returned stock to be allocated to an area with CFC note attached
- Propose new products to the department and see to special orders and follow ups

Requirements for the position:

- **MUST **have a Matric Certificate OR Equivalent NQF4 certification
- **MUST**have a minimum of 5+ years’ proven experience in Hardware Sales (Specialising in Paint product)
- **MUST**have adequate Paint product knowledge & SOP’s - (Will be tested)
- Experience in Paint Mixing/Colour Matching is essential
- Technical Supplier Competency certificates x 5
- Have proven Leadership, Planning, Time management & Organising Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Extensive knowledge in Stock counting and stock control
