**Job summary**:

- The role and responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Manager will include (but are not limited to) the following:
**General responsibilities**
You, together with the financial manager, the group accountants and any CA trainees, will contribute to the group financial reporting process and will assist in providing:

- 1. Meaningful and value-adding management information reporting, and
- 2. IFRS financial reporting, for the group’s financial year end process
- 3. Recruitment and succession planning for the finance team.**Job responsibilities**:
**Specific responsibilities**

**Reporting**
You will review (includes reconciliations) monthly consolidated management and statutory reporting packs. The management reporting pack includes IFRS compliant statutory financial statements as well as various management reports and analyses.
- This will encompass a review of all group entities, as well as special purpose trusts.- You will also be responsible for ensuring that the group’s reporting system requirements are met, including the year end audit process and liaising with the external auditors.**Analysis**
Amongst others, you will assist in the analysis of product and cost centres, budget variances (actuals and forecasts) as well as expense and revenue analyses.**Budgeting and forecasting**
You will assist with the preparation / review of the consolidated and company budgets for the Group and entities. This includes asset and income projections for all group entities and a thorough review of the expense projections. The budget period covers both 1 and 5 years.
- You will also assist with the review of monthly expense analysis, forecasts and variance reporting.**Special projects**
You will be responsible for
- 1) the preparation of the group valuation as required at various points in the year;
- 2) the financial sections of the group ORSA report;
- 3) preparation of the variable remuneration calculations for staff and executive remuneration schemes across the group
- 4) analysing, driving and implementing any other issues / projects that may arise; and
- 5) assist with the testing of any systems projects currently on the go.**Regulatory (including taxation)**
You will assist with ensuring regulatory compliance for all group entities, including transfer pricing, CBC reporting, FATCA reporting and CRS.
- You will be responsible for the review of regulatory returns submitted by all Group finance teams.**Review**
You will be responsible for a review of the weekly payments prepared by all Group finance teams.**Assistance**
You will assist the Finance team with general matters. You must be willing (where necessary) to be involved in the detail required to provide a meaningful contribution to the rest of the team.**Skills developmen**t
- Provide training, where appropriate, to the team members, both within the group reporting area and also across other teams in Group Finance, to assist with their technical and skills development.**Leadership**
You will assist in providing leadership for the Group Finance teams.**Competencies**:

**Education and experience**:

- A qualified CA(SA) with 3-5 years post-article experience, preferably in financial services or similar.- Experience of supervising or leading others is advantageous.**Location**:
