General Engineering Supervisor

Develop & implement prescribed standards & procedures to ensure legal SHE compliance within area of responsibility
- Create a “Visible felt Leadership” SHE culture within area of responsibility
- Implement and maintain Risk Management program measures to continually improve SHE conditions within area of responsibility
- Have vast experience of Winding plants and legals knowledge pertaining to the Winders
- Have knowledge of TMM and Crushing plants
- Ensure all subordinates are trained and competent in order to fulfil their roles safely
- Ensure the operating and maintenance procedures are in place and adhered to and adjust in order to improve Asset performance
- Manage and control engineering budgets within parameters
- Identify business improvement opportunities to ensure a pipeline of CI projects.
- Co-ordinate all project activities within area of responsibility to ensure adherence to project plans
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff
- Development and maintenance of individual development plans for reporting staff
- Manage performance of reporting staff
- Ensure fair work allocation for team members
- Inspire team members towards high performance
- NQF 4 (Diploma / Advanced Certificate) qualification in Engineering (Advantageous)
- Have at least 10 years’ experience in supervisor position (Electrical/Mechanical Foreman)
- Be in possession of GES Certificate (Advantageous)
- Relevant trade qualification
- Demonstrate ability to meet technical and responsibility requirements of the legal appointment.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of basic Legal, Health and Safety and Environmental principles used in the workplace
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate with people on different levels
- Valid Certificate of physical fitness
- Driver’s license
