**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Min 10 years experience gained in PLC and SCADA software development, programming, and support, ideally in a cement or dry bulk powder blending and packing automated environment.
- Sound knowledge of instrumentation, variable speed drives, and automation systems.
- Sound knowledge of plc programming-based control philosophy using first principles.
- Proven skill in scoping small instrumentation and control continuous improvement projects to improve plant stability and optimize production processes.
- Incumbent must have solid experience in compiling bill of materials for electrical and instrumentation components, power and control panels design and layout, designing and writing PLC / SCADA software, hardware and software commissioning, and successful implementation of such projects.
- This position will require standby duty and overtime when required.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintenance and repairs to all equipment
- Electrical, Instrumentation and electronic repair and maintenance of all machinery within the factory, and all associated electrical supply and control panels.
- Strong programming and fault-finding knowledge of DELTA, OMRON, SIEMENS, Variable Speed Drives and PLC's will be advantageous.
- Fault-finding and analysis of machine condition and electronic component failures.
- Load cell fault finding, diagnostics and calibration.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration on weighing systems, level control systems, level transmitters, and control system as per procedures and schedules.

**INDUSTRIAL SAFETY**:

- Keeping abreast of technical developments in all fields.
- Maintaining machine regulations.
- Abide by all safety regulations.
- Being available for Call Outs and overtime work
- Being available to work weekends and public holidays when required

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS**:

- This position is based in an industrial cement/tile adhesive factory with automated machinery.
- Dust, noise, and water-based paint raw materials will be present.
- For this position, one must be medically fit and mobile

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Qualification**:

- Trade Certified in the relevant Electrical/Instrumentation fields.
- N6 or T4 Qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Delta, Omron, and Siemens PLC courses will be an advantage.

**Skills**:

- Able to work in a team.
- Able to work independent.
- Able to take accountability and responsibility.
- Analysing and problem-solving
- Knowledge of occupational safety
- Good knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
