Winch Driver/Operator - Klerksdorp
- **Purpose**:_

A winch operator **controls equipment with powered cables to hoist and move loads too large to be transported by other means**. They use pedals and levers to operate these machines
- **Qualifications / Requirements**:_
- Grade 9
- Winch Operator’s license
- Pass a relevant Psycho-motor skills test
- Medically fit
- **Skills and Experience**:_
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Winch Operator in mining
- **Added Requirements**:_
- Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications.
- Medical fitness test will be required.
- **Duties**:_
- Adhere to health and safety and environmental practices according to standards and procedures.
- Responsible for his/her own safety as well as for others according to the Mine’s Health and Safety Act.
- Inspect the winch against a checklist and report items or issues that require attention
- Transport/remove broken rock, ore and material safely and cost effectively in his/her area of responsibility.
- Repair minor breakdowns and doing pre and post basic maintenance on his/her equipment.
- Assist team members with tasks such as supporting, charging up, early morning examination and equipping.
