A well-established wholesaler and distributor of Plumbing and Sanitary ware to all DIY, Hardware and Plumbing Retailers and Independents in Sub-Saharan Africa is looking for an Import Buyer. The Company focuses on customer service and quality products at affordable and competitive prices. They are the preferred supplier to outlets in Southern Africa. They also focus on after sales services and additional value adds and they are passionate about what they do.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Grade 12 with mathematics.
A degree | diploma in supply chain | procurement | costing | accounting
A minimum of 3 years’ procurement experience with data analysis.
Extremely strong PC knowledge - Excel intermediate.
Able to plan, organize, control, and manage.
Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience with import procedures, air, and sea freight.
Experience using historical sales data and forecasting tools.
Syspro knowledge would be advantageous.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company strategy.
Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.
Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
Obtain approval for purchase orders | payments in terms of level of authority.
Import products costing.
Reviews and processes purchase orders.
Process Import GRV’s.
Maintains records of goods ordered and received.
Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.
Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfilment of orders.
Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
Keeps up with trends in procurement.
Travels to vendor locations.
Maintain ERP database.
Cost saving projects.
Maintain accurate records for accounting, audit and reference purposes.
General administrative tasks.
