The Communications Senior Specialist will lead the organization’s communication with external stakeholders, developing an effective communication strategy and implementing that strategy, with the assistance of management, along with assessing its effectiveness. This includes, but is not limited to, responsibility for the company’s websites, social media platforms, reporting in its various formats to a range of stakeholders, preparing a range of public relations information, investor relations and developing and monitoring appropriate communication standards and formats.

**Responsibilities**:

- Formulate the company’s communication strategy for the Executive Committee consideration
- Prepare press releases and information briefs as requested by senior staff and for approval by management.
- Manage the company’s websites with assistance from technical and IT staff. Among other things, this will consist of:

- Reviewing and refreshing the website’s text and appearance in line with the agreed communication strategy, and ensuring it remains up to date
- Preparing press releases, announcements, and case studies with staff from the company and its shareholders and partners
- Ensure coherency between the English and French versions of the websites, and conduct or manage related translations where possible
- Tracking Google Analytics to understand use of the website, and work with IT to optimize users’ experiences.
- Manage the company’s website and social media for questions, feedback, and grievances, ensuring replies are timely and appropriate via co-ordination of input from appropriate persons within the business.
- Support the ESR team on communication matters, focusing on ESIA permitting, dealing closely with the ESR External Relations Manager
- Serve as a point of contact to ensure coherency and consistency of messaging between the company, its shareholders, and any other relevant parties
- Identify, prepare for, manage, and support events related to public relations in collaboration with other staff
- Manage the company’s branding and related document templates, supported by IT
- Monitor agreed search parameters for the project, competitors, and its stakeholders, preparing periodic summaries
- Manage the company’s data-management system for stakeholder engagement (currently Borealis), entering relevant interactions and ensuring other staff enter important interactions there too
- Develop further and maintain LinkedIn pages for the company
- Support the management and population of the company’s Facebook pages
- Assist in developing videos on the company, with technical support, to improve awareness amongst external
- Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports before circulation to boards, shareholders and other stakeholders and assist in distributing those reports
- Assisting in preparation of letters to and agreements with Government entities

**Requirements**:Qualification and Skill**_
- **
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience, including at least five years in communications
- Knowledge of extractive industries (e.g., mining, oil, gas)
- Knowledge of African affairs
- Bilingual English French, with demonstrated high standards of writing and speaking in both
- Dynamic, hard worker, self-starter, and team player; experienced working closely with people of different backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, and respond quickly to meet deadlines
- Sincere commitment to supporting and promoting the high standards, and the standards, policies and procedures of the company
