OHS / Security Administrator

Our client import, export and distribute seafood products to various countries worldwide.

An OHS Officer will need to ensure compliance and that there is alignment across the organizations by undertaking inspections, monitor compliance and investigations for all OHS related queries. This will be based across three or more sites as needed.

Key responsibilities:
OHS:

- Full responsibility for OHS protocols
- Ensure Food Safety program requirements adhered to.
- Ensure Legal compliance for all OHS aspects.
- Arrange all medical screening as required.
- Manage and arrange training for all OHS and Machine handling related positions.
- Ensure all certificates are valid.
- Manage all OHS supplier accounts and quotes
- Manage PPE requirements, issues, registers, and ordering
- Ensure all applicable paperwork is collected, signed etc. and handed to the correct parties and filed.
- Research, recommend and implement policies and procedures as required.
- Ensure that policies and processes at all sites are aligned and executed.
- Conducting weekly meetings with marshals.
- Take minutes of OHS meetings and coordinating the to do list
- Drafting and Issuing of all notices.
- Upkeep of all OHS filing and files
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, and supply recommendations.
- Vetting of suppliers iro OHS.
- Vetting of supplier H&S files, COIDA and letters of good standing.
- Conduct OJT training and when required.
- Draw up and maintain emergency plans for various business activities.
- Evaluate company drivers annually and maintain list of approved drivers.
- Maintain the following (not limited to) registers and inspections lists, portable electrical equipment, ladders, pressure vessels, electrical COC’s, sanitary and hygiene equipment.

Security
- Ensure that security staff compliment is present and trained according to contract.
- Ensure that all daily registers are being completed as required.
- Conduct CCTV reviews and arrange repairs as needed.
- Conduct CCTV investigations if required.
- Ensure physical, electronical, and intellectual security measures are in place and maintained.

Qualifications/Skills:

- Matric
- Qualification in Health and Safety
- Samtrac or equivalent preferable
- Computer Literate (MS Office)

Experience needed: 3-5 years’ experience in OHS.

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: 08h00 - 17h00, weekends as required (hours may fluctuate due to operational requirements, weekends, and overtime as per operational requirements).

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Paardeneiland, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- High School (matric) (required)

**Experience**:

- OHS: 3 years (required)
