The tour offers unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. This on-site full-time role is located in Franschhoek.

**Role Description**

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Franschhoek Wine Tram's fleet and facilities. This includes ensuring compliance, operations, maintenance, and servicing. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for a team of drivers and will work closely with other departments to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.

The Franschhoek Wine Tram is one of the most well-known businesses in the tourism sector in South Africa. The business is looking for a detail-orientated and passionate Fleet Manager

Role Overview:
As Fleet Manager at the Franschhoek Wine Tram, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and consistent delivery of our service offering to the Tourism Market. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing road and rail transport operations, numerous projects, and managing a diverse team to achieve this end consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Management: Implement, caretake, and manage various projects both internally and externally for the business.
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team that encompasses operational personnel at various levels and functions. This includes ensuring compliance with regard to licensing and certificates of those who work within the operations team and the various functions they fill.
- Facilities Management: Ensure the relevant teams and suppliers are on a consistent basis looking after the security of the business and its various properties and the premises themselves.
- Reporting: Be comfortable and competent in compiling and critiquing reports for use by various departments.
- Financial Management: Compile operations OPEX budget(s) along with managing, and measuring the operations department spending and financial performance according to various KPIs.
- Efficiency Optimisation: Continuously improve operational processes, find cost-effective solutions, and ensure the smooth flow of service offerings across a broad business.
- Compliance: Ensure that all operations adhere to legal, safety, and industry regulations. (RSR, OHSACT, BCEA, etc...)
- Disciplinary Procedures: Implement and oversee disciplinary procedures to ensure the compliance and professional conduct of staff.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Manage relationships with third-party service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring subsequent service quality.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Post-Graduate Degree in commerce or a related field. (Advantageous)
- 10-15 years experience in operations, logistics, fleet management, or related field.
- Experience in the rail industry would be advantageous, specifically Rail Safety Regulator (RSR) and rolling stock.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully leading teams.
- Financial acumen in measuring and managing teams on a financial basis.
- Experience and comfort in dealing with HR-related matters at a CCMA and internal disciplinary hearing level.
- History of managing various operations projects.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to optimize logistics operations.
- Knowledge of safety, compliance, and industry regulations.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
- Relocation to Franschhoek, or the surrounding wine valley region.
