Maintenance Fitter

Situated in Merebank, Durban, the incumbent to undertake and be responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of the Company’s water and wastewater treatment plants as directed by the Plant Manager and as planned in the maintenance schedules.

Main Duties include:

- Ensure that all maintenance and fabrication work is performed to the required quality standards
- Ensure the safe and efficient performance of electrical maintenance and fabrication duties in accordance with prescribed maintenance procedures
- Team management, control and supervision.
- Responsible person in terms of the occupational health and safety act regarding the maintenance and repairs operation
- Maintain safe working procedures
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance work
- Ensure all work procured adheres to procurement policy
- Ensure implementation of documented and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and management thereof
- Ensure best practice with maintenance work with adherence to OEM requirements and relevant ISO standards

Criteria:

- Currently unemployed - this is a 6-months contract position
- Grade 12 certificate
- Certified Artisan Fitter or Fitter and Turner
- Valid code 08 driver’s licence
- 2 - 5 years proven experience as a qualified Fitter/Fitter and Turner.
- 2 - 5 years related management experience
- Preferably an N3 in wastewater and water treatment practice
- Leadership skills, financial acumen, analytical skills, knowledge of

commercial terms
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with computer

literacy specific to MS Office - Excel, Word and Power Point

Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R28,000.00 per month
