Catering Manager

We are recruiting a **Catering Manager** for a Mediclinic in Worcester.

**Job Classification**: Permanent

The Catering Manager will be responsible for monitoring the quality of the food, service and making sure that the business unit performs well.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Recruit, train and manage staff
- Make sure all services meet health and safety and food hygiene standards
- Plan menus to take into account nutritional standards and medical requirements, such as low fat, gluten free, vegetarian, etc
- Arrange staff rotas
- Control budgets
- Order and control stock
- Supervise catering staff to make sure that meals are prepared and served correctly and that supplies are available and carefully used.
- Liaising with dietitiansand dietetic assistantsto plan meals for patients on special diets.
- Work with chefs and cooksto plan menus.
- Matric certificate or relevant experience - focus on intermediate literacy and numerical abilities;
- Knowledge of working in a management role within the catering industry
- Proven experience in catering sector, including stock management & an appreciation of budgetary process and financial understanding
- Strong people management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
- Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must have one of the following qualifications or equivalent:

- BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City and Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3 and possess an intermediate level food safety certificate
- Valid driving licence and resides in Worcester, Western Cape

**Salary**: From R12,000.00 per month
