**Prim**ary purpose of position **(Cape Region - 10 PAKs)**

The maintenance and development of sustainable relations and networks together with local congregations and other parties, in order to support and empower the various markets and workplaces by means of the effective implementation of the mission and vision of the Dutch Reformed Church.

**Key Performance Areas and Actions/Indicators**
- **Maintenance and development of existing networks and the identification of new and relevant networks for the sustainable growth of the Dutch Reformed Church at the regional and local levels**
- Development of key personnel of PAKs and other interest groups, as well as network strategies, operational goals, policy and processes involving the following:

- guidelines concerning relevant networks.
- processes for identifying local workers with an interest in this role.
- Obtaining approval for strategies, goals, policy and processes from the relevant parties, and communication to a wider audience.
- Updating strategies, goals and processes as required
- Co-ordinate practical training to identified “networkers” or personally provide training.
- Monitor process implementation and support the process where practically feasible.
- Maintain basic statistics concerning dissemination in the different areas.
- **Maintenance and establishing of sustainable relations (Internal and External)**
- Develop, in association with key role-players, a strategy, operational goals, policy and process for building relations (which is part of the network strategy)
- Provide support to the PAKs to identify key businesses and institutions.
- Visit PAKs at least twice within 18 months for strategic and operational planning sessions.
- Further development and expansion of selected service providers’ database
- Maintenance of CRM system
- **Co-ordinate and identify experts to provide business intelligence and **analysis.**
- Provide assistance in identifying overall marketplace trends and patterns.
- Co-ordinate a quarterly analytics report which provides valuable information and guidance regarding programs to be invested in, or the optimization or expansion of programs where needed.
- Share relevant information where and when required (new situations/scenarios)
- **Support marketing initiatives which enhance the visibility and value of the Dutch Reformed Church**
- Provide inputs toward an overall communications and marketing strategy and plan of action for the Cape Region.
- Assist in the identification of social media resources and co-ordinate initiatives with relevant role-players.
- Identify possible advertising campaigns which can further benefit IMSA and provide guidance to PAK chairpersons regarding the possible use of such campaigns in their communities.
- Ensure the continual development and dissemination of the newsletter.
- **Support the effective financial management of the **office.**
- Timely compilation of a realistic budget with the appointed consultant
- Ensure that monthly payments are made correctly and on time.
- Follow up on budgetary variances, obtain motivations for such variances and correct them where necessary.
- Identify new funding opportunities.

6.** Provide effective leadership and advice regarding the development and implementation of programmes**
- Identify new programs (related to local trends and patterns) and co-ordinate with PAKs for possible implementation thereof.
- Acquire statistics from PAKs regarding the success of programs
- Investigate the accreditation of relevant programs
- **General Administration**
- Continual attendance of meetings (day management, executive, PAKs and other personnel)
- Ensure that complete minutes are kept, formulate agendas and deliver them timeously to members.
- Follow up on unresolved issues and obtain feedback.
- **Professional participation in projects**
- Support the development of project plans.
- Identify project milestones and provide relevant guidance.
- Effectively manage projects.

**Minimum Requirements and Abilities**

Applicable Degree

At least 15 years’ experience, of which 2-3 years have been in a senior general management position with an emphasis on networking and relationship-building.
