HUMAN SETTLEMENTS GIS Technician

**Requirements**:

- A relevant National Diploma/degree in GIS/Spatial Planning or

related field
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ of relevant experience
- Proven proficiency of Geographical Information Systems (ArcGIS)

and MS Office
- Knowledge of the Human Settlements and/or Spatial Planning

Environment (advantageous)
- Good communications and analytical skills
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas
- Perform tasks associated with researching and investigating housing

related issues
- Perform specific tasks associated with creating new housing data as

well as maintaining accurate as-built housing information
- Perform tasks of a more complex nature associated with

manipulation of externally sourced data
- Perform specific tasks associated with the provision of existing

housing information
- Perform tasks of a more complex nature associated with the

analysis of spatial data
- Perform tasks of a more complex nature associated with modelling

of data output
- Control the map production workflow processes in order to

effectively communicate the relevant spatial information to the

relevant decision makers to assist in making strategic and

operational decisions.
