Job Title- Junior Security Analyst- Location- Selby - Johannesburg, GP 2001 ZA (Primary)- Occupational Level- Semi-Skilled- Job Category- IT Security- Job Type- Permanent- Description**PURPOSE**
As a Junior Security Analyst, you are required to sustain critical security processes and compliance programs, validate the scope of protection activities, maintain records of decisions in respect to the ISMS, and ensure timely and effective communications.

**You will engage with the following stakeholders**:

- IT Infrastructure team members
- Office Automation team members
- Network team members
- Systems Development team members
- Business Systems Owners
- External Qualified Security Assessors

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Deliver on Business Unit goal and activities aligned to strategy
- Identify and scope opportunities for improvement / innovation
- Deliver client or company specific projects in line with company standards and in agreement with line manager
- Ensure effective configuration, use and management of IT Security safeguards and tools
- Provide monthly reports/input to IT Security Manager as evidence for the IT Security Dashboard KPIs
- Ensure that PCI compliance is a “business as usual” activity in the organization through consistent compliance activity planning, tracking and reporting
- Ensure that narratives related to Card Data Processing remain up-to-date and relevant
- Ensure that broader information security management activities in the organisation effectively contribute to PCI compliance, minimising duplication of activity and maximising return on effort
- Maintain an up-to-date view and understanding of the network configuration, its core elements and segments and associated security elements
- Comply with the formal risk acceptance and mitigation process
- Ensure that security problems, incidents and exposures, vulnerabilities and audit findings assigned to you are resolved promptly in accordance with the commitments made by the affected parties
- Record and report on progress and escalate areas of concern or unmitigated exposures
- Assist with the awareness and education programs to ensure that all affected staff, contractors and business partners understand their roles and obligations in respect to data protection at BankservAfrica.
- Demonstrate courteous behaviour in dealings with staff and members within the team
- Create a welcoming environment for staff when they interact with the IT Security department
- Clarify and demonstrate understanding of internal and external customer needs and expectations and deliver accordingly

**QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE**
- Matric
- Relevant certifications - Comptia - Security+, PCI Professional and/or Internal Security Assessor (PCIP and/or PCI ISA), CISA
- Tertiary qualification, certifications or equivalent experience in computer science and / or information systems or related technology infrastructure field would be advantageous
- Strong focus on deliverables
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work to project deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure in a highly stressful environment
- Mature, optimistic, energetic and positive
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
- Self-motivated, pro-active self-thinker

**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in related IT field
- At least 1 year in a large internal IT division or in a corporate IT company
- A sound background in technical/operational system administration (Windows and/or Linux) is preferred
- Strong technical and analytical skills
