In this position you have the opportunity to help lead the change on operational strategy and your responsibilities will include to validate the reference architecture and provide details for the architecture of platforms, leading and working hands on towards implementation and delivery to production of a Big Data enabled platform.

**Duties**:

- Design physical architecture, Metadata Layer and Data Models for Big Data Warehouses, data Lakes or Sandbox environment
- Logical / Physical (Teradata) modelling - ERWin
- 3nf, snowflake
- Report Design - Semantic BI layer creation, Develop front end reporting systems in BI Tool
- Define and help enforce data governance and related data policies in conjunction with delivery tools
- Automation of deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring through DevOps tools

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Data Platforms
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in modernisation of SQL Server and Data Warehouses
- Experience in architecting solutions in the Cloud (Azure) utilising Cloudera or Hortonworks
- Prior experience in migrating big data platforms from earlier to latest versions of the platforms
- Proven track record in incorporating latest operational tools into big data platforms
- Modification of Data Warehouses and
- Certification in Hadoop Operations and Cassandra is desired
- Strong Knowledge of configuration management process using software such Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Columnar Database experience such as Vertica, Redshift, ParAccel, Netezza
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Munnin, Zenoss, etc.
- Knowledge of SCM concepts using tools GIT, SVN etc
- Fundamental knowledge of server’s / computer hardware and software
- Fundamental knowledge of Load balancers, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols
- Experience with performance tuning (JVM, JMX, connection pooling) using JConsole or similar profiling tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical a technical Audiences
- Exposure to statistical analysis and machine learning tools such as R and SAS
