Planner/scheduler (Underground Mining)

This role serves as a planner/scheduler and progress management on small, medium, and large-sized projects with a specific focus on Underground Mining.- Implement the Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to ensure that data are converted correctly from the original estimate to the Project Control system
- Analyze variances in cost or schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management
- Contribute to the proposal efforts for cost or scheduling activities
- Must be able to work in a multiuser environment - EPS system (Enterprise Portfolio System)
- Must understand and adhere to the structured company coding requirements in producing a schedule, i.e., Capture codes, structures, resource library, ID codes - Unison coding
- Must be able to prepare a Basis of Schedule and Plan of Plan document as per best practices
- Must be able to do proper forecasting and flagging the team of any slippages and variances from the plan.
- Must be able to calculate contingency and demonstrate how the calculation was applied in a schedule.
- Must be able to do industry benchmarking on how durations have been established in a schedule.
- Must be capable of producing Roadmaps, Milestone schedules and Level 1-4 schedules
- Must be able to resource load schedules with effort hours and key quantities and run histograms and S-Curves from Primavera or excel.
- Provide functional and management support for all systems and process needed to develop the baseline project execution schedules, measurement system and routine updating, critical path analysis, workforce planning and forecasting, progress validation, earned value assessment, performance measurement and change management
- Preparation of Project Base Line Schedules, resourced loaded and in line with project budgets
- Close liaison and Interface with the Engineering leads, Project Managers and Construction Manager for detail on schedule update requirements on single and/or multiple projects.
- Interface with Contractors for reviewing and monitoring contractor’s schedules for integration with the Overall Project Schedule, producing early and late curves and workforce histograms
- Participates in Project Risk Analysis exercises to highlight schedule deviations and critical path analysis and participates in recovery plan sessions
- Analyze schedule, review delays, propose schedule recovery alternatives and presents them to internal groups as well as the Client.
- Identify and manage schedule considerations and problems resulting from intergroup restraints and interfaces
- Develops look ahead analysis and is responsible for regular progress reporting.
- Implements the correct Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures ensuring compliance to Fluor’s and Client’s Project Controls structure and procedures.
- Generating, checking, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy.
- Responsible for overseeing and reviewing all schedule associated reporting
- Maintains orderly records and archiving to provide audit trail data.
- When required, participates in the development of the Project Business Plan
- Possesses strong personal computer skills and proficiency in the use of automated cost/schedule management systems, i.e., Proficient in Primavera
- Coordinates and participates in internal and external audits.
- Assists with preparation of historical information.

**Basic Job Requirements**
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
- Eight (8) years of work-related in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) environment. (Underground mining)
- Combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed.
- Must have experience as a Planner for a medium-sized project (Underground mining)
- Significant technical knowledge and practical experience with applicable software systems, such as: Primavera P6, SAP, and related Management tools for Cost, Change, and Progress
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Possess practical experience in the use of the automated cost or schedule management systems
- Must have had leadership roles as a Control Team Lead (CTL) on a small-sized project or lead on a large project
- May need to travel internationally for project assignment
