- Key Responsibilities
Managing and executing a variety of tasks to a very high standard to support healthcare analytics projects for different sets of clients in the South African healthcare industry
- Extracting, manipulating and reconciling data from multiple sources and reports;
- Updating, maintaining and enhancing models, dashboards and reports
- Analysing data to identify key issues, develop and recommend solutions, and drive data-based decision-making
- Living the NMG values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Go for It and Make it Count in all interactions with the consulting team, clients and the broader NMG business
- Competencies, Qualifications & Experience
A recent tertiary qualification in actuarial science (preferred) or a statistics, mathematics or data science-related degree with a strong academic record
- Up to 3 years' experience in the South African healthcare or insurance market (note: recent graduates and those graduating at the end of 2024 without work experience will also be considered for the Analyst role)
- Ability to engage and collaborate in a team to achieve individual and team goals; A high level of enthusiasm for the industry, a positive attitude, energetic approach, curiosity and willingness to learn
- Self-managing with the ability to work independently, remain flexible and prioritise competing demands and organise workflow clearly
- Communication and interpersonal skills including being able to convey and explain information, coherently and confidently, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of analysis and statistical software such as SQL, R/ R-Shiny, SAS, Python is desirable
