The Maintenance Handyman will be responsible for maintaining the order of our facility by doing various odd jobs such as servicing equipment, maintaining the outdoor environment, determining the need for repairs, repairing plumbing systems, fixing company electrical, equipment or tools and testing various company home appliances to ensure they work properly, responding to maintenance requests and so on.

**General Maintenance**
- Ensuring all maintenance supplies are available in the maintenance store room.
- Ensure that low running items are ordered and purchased before they run out.
- Maintain and improve the structure, furnishing and equipment (electrical, building, plumbing, air conditioners etc) in all maintenance areas by providing an efficient and professional maintenance service.
- Maintain a good housekeeping culture in your work-area, machines, and equipment.
- Conducts maintenance in line with safety procedures.

**Carpentry**
- Installing cabinets, doors, countertops and flooring including tiles, carpets or other hardwood and laminate coverings.

**Roofing**
- Identifying and repairing the source of leaks.
- Removing dirt and debris from guttering.
- Replacing shingles if required and improving insulation to prevent heat loss.

**Plumbing**
- Resolve basic problems such as installing new taps, sinks and toilets, and repairing leaks.

**Electrical**
- Replacing bulbs.
- Rewiring sockets.
- Installing alarms, doorbells, security cameras and thermostats as and when required.

**Window fitting**
- Cleaning up broken glass.
- Installing new windows and replacing damaged window frames.

**Essential Skills/Knowledge**
- Cleaning skills.
- Welding skills.
- Ability to do roofing.
- Ability to do plumbing.
- Electrical skills.
- Repairs and maintenance skills.

**Qualifications and experience**
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a Handyman.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gauteng, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
