**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:
To oversee the movement, distribution and storage of materials and also to control the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Logistics Diploma or relevant Qualification would be added as an advantage.
- Five years management experience in a manufacturing/food, production, delivery or distribution environment Interest in long-term career development.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques (how, when, who).
- Good communication and presentation skill.
- Computer skills a plus (Microsoft) and knowledge of SAGE system.

**Duties**:

- Exercise critical independent judgment and make decisions regarding day-to-day operational and management issues.
- Responsible for managing delivery station facilities to ensure high standards are met in key operational areas (safety, security, cleanliness etc.).
- Plan and administer the budget in his/her area of responsibility, in cooperation with the supervisor, and make sure there is compliance with it.
- Break down and prioritize group goals for associates.
- Assure planning and control of the material demand and of the detailed production program, in order to assure supply with all necessary materials and components.
- Assure material availability/transport logistics and the agreed supply reliability to internal and/or external customers.
- Implement logistics, processes and systems and assure they are followed.
- Ensure all job injuries are reported timely and documented in accordance to policy and procedure and investigate safety issues and partner with key stakeholders (Safety, HR, Station leadership etc.).
- Support the strategic planning of the department/unit by breaking down or developing the strategic planning for the group, within a short or medium-range time frame.
- Day-to-day supervision and development of Area Managers including conducting structured development plans.
- Administer and assure all logístical functions in the plant (e.g. warehouse administration, materials management, transport, etc.), implement actions for deviations as required.
- Strategic development of workplace environment that fosters Standard work, reporting and root cause on site performance.
- Accuracy of data capture of Sales Order number, Contract number, Vehicle Registration details, Correct Product to Correct Customer and Pricing exists.
- Matching of Vehicle Registration to Contract/Sales Order. Efficient turnaround of Vehicles. Communicate any delays and Vehicles that did not arrive or load. Inform Customers of Vehicles not loaded or delayed loading.
- Daily completion of Washing Certificate log sheet per vehicle. Washing Certificates included with Picking Slip to Debtors Clerk for Invoicing.
- Daily reports are issued to respective stake holders (Operations, Sales, Logistics)
- Assistance to sales team:

- Order entry processing.
- Daily Tanker plan update.
- Submitting orders for release (Debtors) + plant (For documents).
- Sales Recon per client (Oil Contracts).
- Booking loads with transporters.
- Booking reg numbers and Specs to be loaded from the supplier.
- Stand in for sales team when employees are on leave.
