Our client is a large national pioneering manufacturer and supplier of packaging.

**JOB SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining the plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition.

**THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT**
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:

- Matric is essential with an Electrical Engineering Diploma or N6.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Own vehicle is essential.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
- Installing power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment by following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
- Coordinate and direct production workflow; ensure quality standards, production efficiencies and timely completion of work orders are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to production and quality issues.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replacing damaged or broken wires and cables using handtools.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and using test equipment.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards.
- Must diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment when required.
