**VACANCY**

**Area Manager - Security**

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Direct an organization's security functions, including physical security and safety of employees, facilities, and assets.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
 Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.

 Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.

 Recruit, train and supervise security supervisors and officers.

 Manage allocated areas to ensure that contractual requirements are met as stipulated by client and within budget.

 Ensure that all Security Officers on site meet the contractual requirements as stipulated by the client, and meet all compliance as required by PSIRA Act, Firearms Control Act, NKP Act.

 Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs.

 Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.

 Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms.

 Investigate incidents and send a preliminary investigation report to Management & Client within 24 hours.

 Review reports on incidents and breaches.

 Investigate and resolve issues.

 Create reports for management on security status.

 Submitting relevant daily, weekly / monthly incident and general reports to Management.

 Prepare monthly reports for invoice submission and submit invoices timeously to clients.

 Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology).

 Source new business - business development.

**Requirements**:
 Registered with PSIRA

 Grade A qualification.

 Further education in security management or a similar field will is required.

 Proven experience as manager, preferable security manager/facilities manager/Health and safety manager or similar management position.

 Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g., CCTV).

 Experience in reporting and emergency response planning.

 Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures.

 Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.

 Working knowledge of MS Office.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.

 Committed and reliable.

 Driver’s License and own vehicle.

 Matric/Degree/Diploma/MAP.

 Travelling.

 Working irregular hours.
