**The Role & Responsibilities**

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Global Immigration & Mobility team at Baker & McKenzie.
The successful applicant will be supporting the busy immigration team in London and must possess a strong client service focus enabling you to interact well with both external and internal clients at all levels. This is a great opportunity to gain more exposure to corporate immigration law, further your skills and be part of an award winning Firm.
The successful applicant will ideally have some corporate immigration experience gained within a professional services environment. We are looking for someone to join the team who has a very strong work ethic and a genuine interest in developing their knowledge of this area of law. This role would suit a career paralegal seeking a supportive environment and an opportunity to develop their career on a the long term basis.
Please note that this role is a Paralegal position in the Immigration team and not an entry route to complete a training contract or a professional qualification. The two recruitment processes are completely separate.
**Responsibilities**
- File management and some billing administration.
- Research on immigration cases as and when required and keeping precedents up-to-date.
- Assisting with preparation for seminars and publications.
- Liaising with the Home Office and clients over the telephone.
- Meeting and liaising with clients.
- Dealing with our HR & Development team on in-house staff immigration matters.
- Assisting other fee earners in the department as and when required.
**Job Holder Requirements**
- Degree qualification or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal (preferably in the immigration field) in a corporate / professional services environment.
- Able to demonstrate strong client service skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills and experience.
- High work standards, including excellent attention to detail and strong prioritisation skills.
- Ability to confidently deal with demanding situations, people and requirements.
- Flexible and efficient work practices with the ability to adapt style as required.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own caseload.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A team player but able to work under own initiative.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software and online research tools.
- Respects and enjoys the diversity of cultural, social and academic backgrounds found in the Firm
