An Association that looks after members that include producers, importers, exporters, logistics and retailers is looking for a CEO to provide the members with innovative solutions, represent their interests, promote fair trade and global access and to facilitate dialogue between stake holders. The Association provides a link between members, industry and government.

Requirements include:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Law, Veterinary, or International supply chain.

Minimum of ten years’ experience at a senior management level in a Corporate or SMME enterprise.

Proven experience as **CEO** or in other managerial positions

Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision

Strong understanding of industry body finance and performance management principles

Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.

In-depth knowledge of good governance and general management best practices

An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills

Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and expert public speaking skills (including navigating the media)
- Extensive experience with dealing with Government at various levels. Must understand the need to be able to adapt between different government departments and know when to be flexible and when to stand their ground.
- Experience within the food industry and understanding food safety controls, food safety legislation, and food quality controls.
- Demonstrate previous success in negotiating or lobbying the government on legislation change or a government department’s interpretation of legislation.
- Have extensive experience in dealing with litigation procedures and being able to liaise directly with the legal team and the various stakeholders.
- Have extensive experience with reading legal documents and legislation.
- Must have a working knowledge of global trade processes and the day-to-day activities that an import/export company undertakes.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the principles around international trade agreements and the procedures around disputes.
- Must understand the role of the World Trade Organisation.
- Must have experience with dealing with the press and have an existing network of persons within the print media industry.
- Must be an expert at public speaking.
- Experience in project management where he/she was the team leader managing other contributor’s deadlines and deliverables.

**Salary**: R100 000,00 - R130 000,00 per month
