Baker

We are seeking an experienced baker with at least one year of previous experience in the baking of rusks, cookies or any related products. We have both day shift and night shift positions available.

**Baker responsibilities and duties**:

- Mixing, preparing and baking of products.
- Know how to follow existing recipes.
- Observe the color of products being baked and adjust oven temperatures, and times accordingly.
- Set oven temperatures and place items into hot ovens for baking.
- Measure and weig ingredients according to recipes.
- Operating and maintaining equipment
- Packaging and displaying finished products
- Checking for quality and freshness
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

**Requirements, skills and traits**:

- Matric/Grade 12 or any other relevant qualification
- 1 -2 years of baking experience
- Must be able to speak English professionally
- Must reside in or near Blackheath and have reliable transportation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Experience with baking and rusks, cookies or simliar product preparation
- Ability to lift and work manual labour
- Ability to work quickly and accuratel
- Good numeracy and literacy skill - Must be able to understand units (kg, ml, l, mm, cm etc.)
- Able to work as part of a team
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
