**Key Competencies**:
- Managing and cataloguing all heritage, teaching, and research objects in line with local and international best practices
- Design and implementation of operational policies aligned to organisational and ISO standards for ongoing maintenance and day to day operations
- Computer literacy and experience in the design and maintenance of databases
- Designing broad and targeted teaching and learning material relevant to the research activities of the School
- Communicating geosciences to learners, teachers, scientists and the general public
- Involvement in various School field trips to collect new geological specimens
- Contributing to curriculum development and innovation
- Participating in community engagement initiatives
- Performing related administrative duties in the School and Faculty
- Commitment to curating all sample materials and developing interactive exhibitions that will inform all interested parties
- Commitment to driving redevelopment of the Earth Exploratorium
- Ability to liaise with academic researchers, lecturers and students

**Minimum Requirements**:
- South African Citizen.
- BSc in Geosciences with a good academic record.
- Information systems programming (eg. Python, VBA, SQL, GIS) and experience in database softwares eg. in Access, Specify, OpenRefine, or Oracle, would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills (written, spoken, virtual).
- The applicant’s experience in working with various creative media and social media will be taken into consideration during the evaluation
