Despatch Manager

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

This position serves as a managerial role. The incumbent will perform a defined range of duties varying in complexity and capability requirement. Focus will be on several tasks at once. Management and engagement of teams and individuals is critically important in this role. The incumbent needs to drive awareness of customer satisfaction, service levels, quality, cost and safety to their team.

**REPORTING TO: Distribution Manager**

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Drive execution to the dispatch plan.
- To ensure customers receive their orders on time, in full and in required condition by managing and owning goods, processes and systems, post production.
- Managing and engaging transport suppliers in terms of rates and commercial/ administrative/ regulatory/legal requirements.
- Management of warehouses, stock, stock systems, waste and redundant stock
- Ensure pull production protocol is adhered to.
- Control the dispatch and documentation of finished goods, flat sheet and any other sold products (pallets etc).

- Transport Cost reduction.
- Manage and own transport index process.
- Control documentation (Delivery Notes, Transport Invoices, Extras)
- Sit in on daily planning huddle and provide feedback from dispatch on NOTIF order liners.
- Functional back-up for Despatch Planner & Production Planner

**REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**
- Matric Certificate - with Mathematics
- ABACA knowledge
- Fully Computer Literate
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistics
- Previous experience in the Courier industry advantageous
- Must be assertive and manage people
