**Financial Data Analyst**

**Job description**

A well-established corporate with a strong track record in the industry is looking for a strong Financial Data Analyst to join a vibrant, dynamic, forward-thinking team in Cape Town CBD.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Overall group reporting entails the consolidation, review and analysis of monthly executive reporting packs and Divisional and Group budgets;
2. Present a consolidated view of the company’s financial performance through financial reconciliations;
3. Prepare error-free quarterly and yearly analyst packs and monthly reports;
4. Offer insight into business performance while influencing and supporting business planning, commercial decision making, forecasting and the budgeting processes of the company;
5. Collaborate and engage with stakeholders across the company offering business planning, commercial and financial analysis of data trends;
6. Ability to prepare projections and forecasting analysis utilising accounting methods and tools;
7. Lead the analysis for corporate finance related transactions and support senior management with ad-hoc analysis identifying anomalies and providing solutions for rectification purposes;
8. Identify areas of commercial risk and opportunity through financial analysis and insight ensuring these are swiftly identified and acted on by the business functions;
**Educational**

1. Matric

2. Tertiary Qualification in either Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics (or similar) / Degree in Information Science, BCom Information Systems / Accounting

3. Experience:
a. 2 to 3 years’ experience in data driven projects.

b. 3 to 5 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting.

**Strong handle of**:
1. Microsoft Excel;
2. SQL;
3. PowerBL or similar (Advantageous).

4. Project management skills.

5. Must be able to set tasks with deadlines and work towards delivering within timeframes.

6. Strong cross-functional skills (matrix structure).

7. Strong communication skills.

8. Attention to detail.

9. Retail / commercial experience favorable.
