**Job Description**:
We are urgently seeking a Proactive, SAMTRAC Qualified individual with excellent communication and leadership skills - to take on the role of **SHEQ OFFICER **- to Implement and maintain a SHEQ Management system in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 Management System requirements.
The position will report into the SHEQ Manager and will be required to take responsibility for the SHE requirements of all buildings, grounds and security related to the allocated sites.
- (_**_NB_**_ Must have SAMTRAC, HIRA & First Aid Level1) Preferably Immediately available and residing near/within the Wellington/Paarl area - and the capacity to be on call_ _24 hours to respond to any incidents or accidents._
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure the SHEQ System is implemented by all levels of staff and that any deficiencies identified are reported.
- Ensure continued effectiveness of the Safety at offices, operational / project sites as well as chemical warehouse facilities.
- Assist in the drafting of all, Safe work Procedures and Work Instructions that comply with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standard requirements.
- Ensure the maintenance and upgrading of the Health, Environment and Safety Standards.
- Identify and correct any deficiencies in the SHEQ System and monitor its effectiveness in the light of changing technologies and to regulation changes.
- Ensure that the Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993 and all relevant Regulations are adhered to.
- Provide SHEQ awareness training
- Prepare Safety statistics and reports
- Assist in resolving SHEQ non-conformances and disputes
- Ensure that suppliers and subcontractors adhere to all safety requirements.
- Plan, schedule and manage all medical and health monitoring requirements
- Assist investigations into accidents or incidents that have occurred on site
- Assist the SHEQ Coordinator in various HSE tasks
- On call 24 hours to respond to any incidents or accidents
- Continuously strive to ensure SHEQ KPI’s are achieved and managed on an on-going basis.
- Take responsibility for the SHE requirements of all buildings, grounds and security related to the allocated sites.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
- Ideally Immediately Available and within Wellington/Paarl area (Western Cape)
- **Must have**: Matric + _Ideally_ SHEQ Tertiary qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Computer skills-G Suites
- SAMTRAC
- HIRA
- First Aid Level 1
- Incident / Accident investigations
- Perform all duties to the latest ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standard requirements.
- Teamplayer with excellent communication skills
