**BUTCHER / BLOCKMAN - ICON MEATS DERDEPARK**
We are looking for an energetic, responsible and dedicated Butcher/Blockman to oversee the overall operations and day to day running of Icon Meats Butchery. The position requires a dedicated and disciplined individual with strong managerial qualities. The role will range from attending to customers needs, managing stock, quality control and managing the day to day activities and operations of the butchery.

- Work hours: Mon to Saturday 07h00 -17h00 _
- Salary: Relative to experience, Negotiable _

**REQUIRED**:

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment. Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery. Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat.
Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat. Cut or prepare meat to specification or customer’s orders. Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature. Keep proper inventory of meat sales and order meat supplies. Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards. Familiarity with all equipment; especially cutting equipment i.e saw’s.
Understanding and implementation of food safety practices.Make sure the butchery offers quality goods to customers on a daily basis, as per the production schedules. Loading materials and products into package-processing equipment, measuring, weighing and counting product materials, moving or lifting objects, loading, unloading or stacking products or materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Sorting manufacturing materials or products, operating packaging machine equipment, recording product, packaging and order information on forms and records. Ensuring stock replenished and properly displayed in display fridges for customer consumption. Welcoming customers in a friendly manner. Scan the customer’s selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers' products, promotions, or item location. Respond to complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics. Balancing the cash register and generating reports for credit and debit sales. Bagging or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transport. Following all store’s procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, discounts etc.
