Well established IT / ISP company based in Cape Town is expanding their networking department and is seeking experienced IT networking specialists at a junior and intermediate level. Prior IT networking experience is a must and if within an ISP or FNO environment that would be a bonus

As a networking administrator, the individual will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This is a critical role that requires the ability to work flexible hours, including shifts 7 days a week, as well as being available for after-hours standby duties, including graveyard shift. The person must have their own car & valid driver’s license. (non negotiable)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Respond to alerts and troubleshoot network incidents, following established protocols and escalation procedures to minimize downtime and ensure swift resolution.
- Incident Management: Document and track network incidents using incident management tools, providing accurate and timely updates to stakeholders and escalating issues as necessary.
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Assist in the implementation of network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities during scheduled maintenance windows to ensure mínimal disruption to operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Generate regular reports on network performance and incidents for management review.
- After-Hours Standby: Be available for after-hours standby duties to respond to critical incidents and emergencies, providing prompt troubleshooting and support when required.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and customer support, to address network-related issues and ensure effective communication throughout the incident resolution process.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to network operations. Proactively identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
- Fault finding & link restoration.
- Customer relationship management - Internal & External (Including Enterprise & Business customers)

**Minimum Requirements in order to be considered for the position**:
Qualifications and Skills:

- Matric & IT diploma or equivalent qualification
- Certifications: CCNA, MTCNA or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.
- Prior experience working in a Network Operations Center or similar role is highly desirable, especially for an ISP
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess and resolve network issues.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts 7 days a week, and be available for after-hours standby duties.

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R27,000.00 per month
