**Qualification**:
Honours degree - Geology

**Experience**:
Work experience 3 years

ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Delph Seismic interpretation programs Conversant

**Sea Going Personnel**:
Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English

Valid passport

Valid Seafarers Medical certificate (RSA / NAMIBIA)

Valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) - (RSA / NAMIBIA)

Seamans Record Book (RSA / NAMIBIA)

STCW (Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping for Seafarers), Courses:
MFA (First Aid)

FF (Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting)

PST (Personal Survival Techniques)

PSSR (Personal Safety & Social Responsibility)

HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)

CSA (Competence in Security Awareness)

**Job Outputs**:

Ensure compliance with Group SHES policies

KPI: Zero LTIs - Zero environmental incidents - Zero findings or deviations

**Production**:
Assist in creating mine plan data packs

Pre-mining briefing to ROV Pilots, Survey, Metallurgy, Engineering, OTM, OSMM

Monitoring seabed conditions during mining, establishing safest and optimal ROV launch position

Monitor mining with emphasis on bedrock cleaning, tool performance, and mining efficiency in order to optimize production, in conjunction with OTM and OSMM

Comparing actual geology & bedrock conditions with interpreted data and adjust all deviations accordingly

Establish trends in order to predict conditions & grades in adjoining blocks & areas

Make or assist in decision making related to block completion, abandonment for economic reasons, the need for “breakthrough” attempts etc

Monitor the positioning of the vessel and mining tool

Assist in monitoring mining method efficiency & make recommendations on improvement

Ensure close communication with CHIEF SORTER regarding final recovery operations & data requirements

Assist with analysis & interpretation of geological, geotechnical, & geophysical data from sampling & surveying activities

Identify suitable areas for exploration sampling & mine production

Regular database updates, administration, research projects & any form of general assistance to other departments when required

Complete all training as required

KPI: 100% Environmental compliance - Zero deviations or findings

**Reporting**:
Assists with daily and monthly Diamond Production reports, Daily progress reports and Block reports

Assists with environmental reports

KPI: Quality and timely reporting - Zero deviations or findings
